Family of grandfather and granddaughter killed in West Columbia crash is suing Henry’s bar in Cayce
The family of a man and his granddaughter who were killed in a September DUI-related crash in West Columbia are suing Henry’s of Cayce for wrongful death. Click here to see a copy of the lawsuit
The suit claims Joshua Yarborough and Hunter Meetze were patrons at Henry’s Restaurant and Bar at 2108 State Street in Cayce around 6 p.m. on Sept. 15. The lawsuit claims the two were overserved an excessive amount of alcohol at the bar in a short period of time. Click here for a link to fatal crash report
Yarborough is charged with striking the a vehicle with Cornelius Alexander Clory, 68, of Virginia, and Leeya Janae Leaverette, 17, of West Columbia in it. Both were killed in the accident, according to Lexington County Coroner, Margaret Fisher. The collision occurred at the intersection of 12th Street and B Avenue in West Columbia’s Triangle City.
Clory’s wife Gladys Clory was the front passenger in the car that was hit. She survived the crash and is one of the plaintiffs. Danyel Shavon Clory Leaverette, Leeya’s mother, is also named as a plaintiff in the suit. Photo of crews repairing power lines after the crash.
