Excitement surrounds reopening of barbers and salons in West Columbia
In a sure sign toward recovery, hair salons and barbers opened Monday.
Former West Columbia Mayor Bobby Horton, who said he needed a haircut badly, was up early.
“I got a haircut Monday morning,” he said. Horton had gone more than two months without a haircut because barbers, and all close-contact businesses, were not allowed to open because of coronavirus fears.
Horton said he went to the The Rogue on Sunset Boulevard and practiced all safety protocols, including wearing a mask, and one-at-a-time service.
Opening Tuesday is Spa 131 on State Street.
“I can’t wait to see you,” said Marci Ruffin Delaney, Spa 131 owner.
She said in a video that she missed her customers. Upon Spa 131’s grand reopening, Delaney said there will be even more sanitation procedures than before.
“I’s so excited to be open,” she said. Call (803) 251-9400 or visit: www.spa131.com
