Gabe Caldwell is a Boy Scout with Cayce Troop 339. He built an American Flag Retirement Collection Box and gave it to the City at Tuesday’s Council Meeting. said Mendy Corder, Cayce’s Municipal Clerk.

The box is for anyone who has a worn flag that wants to properly dispose of it in a dignified manner. Once enough flags have been collected, they will be processed with respect, in accordance with flag protocol.

The box will be placed in the lobby of Cayce City Council Chambers when the renovations are complete at Cayce City Hall. There is a Flag Retirement Ceremony at 7 p.m. on April 18, at Transfiguration Lutheran Church at 1301 12th Street.
