Drugs, guns and money found in Springdale hotel-room raid

The Springdale Police Department arrested four people and charged them with drug-related crimes.spd

Officers responded to a drug complaint at a local hotel on Cherokee Lane, Wednesday, according to an announcement from Springdale Police Chief Kevin Coronett.

A caller reported the suspicion of illegal drug activity to police.

Officers attempting to get into the hotel room reported the odor of marijuana coming from it. One of the individuals in the room tried to run, but was apprehended a short time later. Officers executed a search warrant of the room and recovered over 100 grams of crack cocaine, over 200 grams of cocaine, and other narcotics that have not been identified yet. There were multiple firearms in the room to, according to the report. Officers also seized just under $2,000 in cash during the search.

Officers arrested two females, ages 27 and 17, and a male, age 35. They were all charged with trafficking cocaine, trafficking crack, manufacturing crack, and possession of a firearm during violent crime. The 17-year-old female was also charged with  giving false information to police.  The 35 year old was also charged with failure to stop on police command.  A 30-year-old male who was wanted by Richland County Sheriff’s Department was also arrested.

The two females, and the 35-year-old man, were taken to the Lexington County Detention Center. The other man was turned over to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
