The driver of an SUV died early Sunday after the vehicle ran off of U.S. 321 in Lexington County and overturned, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Master Trooper William Bennett said the incident occurred near Woodcote Drive and involved a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe that was heading north. He said the SUV ran off the left side of the road and went down an embankment before overturning. The driver died at the scene.

The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the driver.
