Dominion Energy Volunteers Help Restore Good Samaritan Clinic in West Columbia
Employee volunteers from Dominion Energy recently completed some much-needed work at the Good Samaritan Clinic, 1316 Leaphart St. It’s a nonprofit health care provider serving the West Columbia community.
Nearly 20 volunteers painted interior walls, revitalized landscaping and enhanced safety features for the clinic’s patients. The project was funded by a Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation grant. The employees from Dominion Energy’s transmission group organize community service events through the year.
“This started as an idea to connect our team with the community, and it quickly grew thanks to the overwhelming support from our leadership and coworkers,” said Tyler Claytor, a Dominion Energy business analyst who helped lead the initiative. “From identifying the clinic’s needs, to securing funding and coordinating the work, it’s been amazing to see what we can accomplish together.”
This effort underscores Dominion Energy’s commitment to community engagement.
“Our team is proud to serve this community every day, and projects like this show we’re just as committed to supporting it beyond the meter,” said volunteer Mary Sale, manager Transmission Compliance program.
Mike Young, Good Samaritan Clinic executive director, said the improvements will have a lasting impact on the facility, its patients and the community.
“When you invest in the space, people feel it,” he said. “This kind of partnership shows our patients they are valued—and gives our volunteers and staff a renewed sense of pride.”
