Deputies searching for suspect in connection to West Columbia shooting

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced that an arrest warrant has been issued for the man investigators said is responsible for a West Columbia homicide that occurred last Friday.

Jamal Devontae Coburn, 26, has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of Corey Jamison, according to arrest warrants.

“Through our investigation, detectives were able to determine Coburn was at the scene when Jamison was shot,” Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon said. “Multiple witnesses saw the shooting and identified Coburn as the gunman.”

Koon asked anyone with information on the whereabouts of Coburn to please call Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
