Deadly night in Lexington County, with 4 traffic deaths

One of the crashes occurred on Crystal Springs Road near Becca Lane at about 8:25 p.m. Two vehicles were involved. The driver of a Chevrolet truck tried to pass several vehicles. The Chevrolet hit a Ford that was attempting to turn left into a private driveway, said Lance Cpl. David Jones.

The driver of the Ford was entrapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver of the Chevrolet was not wearing his seat belt. He was ejected from the truck and taken to the hospital in serious condition, according to Jones. The driver of the Ford- who was killed- was wearing a seat belt.

A man driving a Ford truck on U.S. 1 hit two pedestrians who were crossing the road, according to a Highway Patrol report. Both pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene. That accident was at the intersection of Priceville Road. It also happened about 8:25 p.m. The driver was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

A Toyota truck on Bush River Road struck a Ford on the driver’s side, at about 9:40 p.m., according to Jones. The Ford was turning left from Berryhill Road onto Bush River Road. The driver of the Ford was transported to the hospital and died from injuries sustained in the crash, Jones said.
The male driver the Toyota was arrested and charged with felony DUI.
The Highway Patrol is investigating the incidents.
