Davis Early Childhood Center Hosts Literacy Fair
Davis Early Childhood Center for Technology in Cayce, SC hosted a Literacy Fair on Saturday, March 5 from 10 a.m. – til – noon. Children’s authors Melinda Long and Kevin Kurtz entertained students and parents alike.
Students from Congaree-Wood Early Childhood Center were also invited to this special event where they could participate in many events to promote reading, such as reading under the stars, solving a mystery with invisible messages, reading a recipe to make a snack, creating a memory book with your family, listening to storytellers, and purchasing books at the book fair.![Davis3](https://westmetronews.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Davis3-241x300.jpg)

They also enjoyed special appearances by Clifford the Big Red Dog, Geronimo, Ragedy Ann, and many more book characters. Beta Club members from Brookland-Cayce High School were also on hand to assist and provide refreshing snacks. April Mendenhall, a literacy coach, spearheaded this event to emphasize the importance and joy of reading with family and friends.
