The passenger in a 2007 Toyota Camry was killed Monday evening after the Camry was struck by a 2017 Toyota Prius on St. Andrews Road, three miles south of Irmo, according to Master Trooper William H. Bennett of the SC Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 8:45 p.m., said Bennett. The Prius, traveling in a westward direction, hit the Camry near the intersection of St. Andrews Road and Leisure Lane. The driver of the Prius and the driver of the Camry were taken to the hospital.

The Lexington County Coroner has not released the name of the deceased, yet. The collision is under investigation by the SC Highway Patrol. (Irmo Fire District photo)
