COVID cases decline at Lexington Medical Center, 103 deaths in September
There were 49 patients hospitalized with COVID at Lexington Medical Center as of Friday according to numbers released by LMC on the hospital’s Facebook page. Of those, 15 were in the Intensive Care Unit.
During last week the overall number of COVID cases fell each day. On Tuesday there were 67 COVID patients at LMC. That number fell to 61 by Wednesday and 52 by Thursday. About 20 were in ICU all week until that number fell on Friday.
Most of the cases were of patients not vaccinated, according to the LMC data.
The hospital also posted a graphic showing that 103 patients died of COVID related illness in September. Most of those who died (29) were in the 70-79 age range. There were 14 who died that were over the age of 80 and 20 were age 60-to-69.
