Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who was killed in the early Friday morning two-car accident on Hwy 321 in Cayce.
Valerie D. Rhodes, 44, of Gaston was traveling north in the 3200 block of Charleston Highway at approximately 4:40 a.m. on Friday, when another vehicle that was traveling south in the north bound lane struck her vehicle head-on. Rhodes died at the scene from the injuries she sustained in the accident.
An autopsy was performed Friday and showed that Rhodes died of multiple body trauma. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
