Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the autopsy results of the individual found deceased following a residential structure fire that occurred shortly after midnight Sunday. The house is located in the 300 block of Sunny Boy Poole Road in Gaston.
According to Fisher, Mr. Tommy Ray Watts, 52, of Gaston, was pronounced dead on scene following a fire inside his residence. An autopsy, performed Tuesday, determined Watts’s death was the result of smoke inhalation.
The cause and origin of the fire is still being investigated by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
