Coroner identifies victim in fatal car accident
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the driver killed in the single-car accident that happened on Corley Mill Road near Woodmill Road at approximately 12:48 p.m. on Sunday.
Fisher states that Kathryn B. Ellison of Leesville was killed when the vehicle she was operating ran off the road and hit a tree.
Ellison died at the scene due to her injuries. Two minor children were secured with seatbelts in the rear seat of the vehicle. Both minor children were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Ellison was not wearing her seat belt during the accident. An autopsy is scheduled Monday to determine the cause of death.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol as well as the Lexington County Coroner’s Office will continue to investigate the accident.

Mrs. Ellison Died at the scene due to her injuries. Two minor children were secured with seatbelts in the rear seat of the vehicle. An autopsy would be performed on January 16, 2017 to determine the cause of death.
