Coroner identifies man who died in Lexington crash

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a single-vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 378 and West Main Street in Lexington at approximately 8:15 p.m. Sunday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Charles Christopher Gossett, 32, of Gilbert was pronounced dead at an area hospital due to his injuries.

Mr. Gossett was traveling eastbound on U.S. Hwy 378 when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a utility pole. Mr. Gossett was not wearing a seat belt when the incident occurred. The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
