Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a homicide that occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The incident happened in the 500 block of Blackville Road in Gaston. According to Fisher, Malcolm C. Jones, 27, of Gaston suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
