Coroner identifies man killed in early-morning wreck

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was killed at lccoapproximately 3:45 a.m. on Sunday, on Edmond Highway near the intersection of Pleasant View Road in Lexington County.
The man who died was Kenneth Maxie Lucas, age 47, of Pelion.
Lucas was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from his vehicle. He was transported to an area hospital, where he died shortly after arriving.
An autopsy performed later on Sunday and indicated the cause of death as multiple body trauma.
The driver of the tractor-trailer in the collision was treated on the scene for minor injuries. The driver of the third vehicle – a GMC Yukon- was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
