Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual

who died as a result of being struck by a vehicle, Tuesday.
The incident occurred in the 1900 block of Old Dunbar Road in West Columbia at approximately 3 a.m.

According to Fisher, Mr. Jose G. Pineda, 24, of Columbia was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries. Mr. Pineda was assessing an issue with the vehicle in which he had been a passenger when he was struck.

The incident is under investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department
