Coroner identifies Gilbert man who drowned in pond

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who is believed to have drowned  shortly after 9 a.m. Saturday, in a private pond in the 1200 block of Windy Road in Gilbert.
Coroner Fisher stated that Mark A. Taylor, 52, of Gilbert, was transported by Lexington County EMS to Lexington Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

An autopsy will be conducted on Sunday. It was reported to the Coroner’s Office that Taylor was not wearing a life vest when the accident occurred.
This incident remains under investigation by the Department of Natural Resources and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
