Coroner identifies 4 traffic fatalities from Wednesday accidents

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was killed Wednesdaylcco evening, at the intersection of Bush River Road and Berryhill Road in Columbia, as Gwendolyn Ann Moody, age 59, of Columbia.
Moody was turning south onto Bush River Road from Berryhill Road when her vehicle was struck by a vehicle traveling north on Bush River Road. Moody was transported to an area hospital, where she later died from the injuries she sustained in the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
An autopsy performed on Thursday, indicated that Moody suffered massive body trauma. The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

According to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher, the individual who was killed
at approximately 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday, in the 900 block of Crystal Springs
Road in Lexington, was Stanley P. Rysz, Jr., age 62, of Lexington.
Rysz’s vehicle was struck by a passing vehicle as he was turning left into his
driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening
injuries.
An autopsy performed on Thursday indicated that Mr. Rysz suffered massive
head trauma.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and
the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the two individuals were
struck and killed by a vehicle at approximately 8:25 p.m. on Wednesday. The accident happened in the 4400 block of Augusta Road in Gilbert. The victims have been identified as Rashmikant Shah, age 64, and his wife Anjali Rashmikant Shah, age 60, both of Gilbert.
Mr. and Mrs. Shah were walking in the center lane of the highway when they were struck
by a vehicle traveling east on Augusta Road.
Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries they sustained. The driver of the vehicle was not injured.
Autopsies performed on Thursday, Thursday indicated the Shahs
suffered multiple head and body trauma.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and
the South Carolina Highway Patrol
