Coroner identifies 2 who died in separate crashes in Lexington County, Friday
Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died as a result of a single-vehicle accident on Corley Mill Road just before 1 a.m., Friday, in Lexington County.
According to Fisher, Mr. Maxwell Joseph Lampl, 23, of Lexington was traveling westbound on Corley Mill Road when the vehicle he was operating went off the left side of the roadway, struck several trees, and came to rest on the right side of the roadway. Mr. Lampl, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries.
Fisher has also identified the individual who died as a result of a two-car accident at the intersection of Pond Branch Road and Neely Wingard Road at approximately 7 a.m. Friday, in Lexington County.
According to Fisher, Ms. Belinda Roblero-Perez, 14, of Leesville, was a passenger in a Chevy Tahoe that was traveling westbound on Neely Wingard Road when the vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a minivan traveling northbound on Pond Branch Road. Ms. Roblero-Perez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
The driver and three other juveniles who were also in the Tahoe were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the van was transported with minor injuries.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating both crashes.
