The number of flight options out of Cayce-based Columbia Metropolitan Airport increased in 2018, and another is planned in the spring.

Columbia Metropolitan Airport welcomed VIA Airlines on Dec. 21.  On that day VIA Airlines began nonstop service to Orlando Sanford International.

With the Orlando flight, the number of nonstop destinations out of CMA is 10. There are CMA flights to Houston, Dallas, Chicago, Washington Dulles, Washington National, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Charlotte and Orlando.

In late 2018, American Airlines also announced a new nonstop daily service to New York/LaGuardia. The daily service begins May 3. It will depart CMA at 6:55 a.m. and will arrive in New York at 9 a.m. The return flight will depart New York at 9:29 p.m. and will arrive CMA at 11:36 p.m
