Springdale-4

Close-to 200 new homes being built in the Town of Springdale, residents are moving in

Springdale’s new housing development is over halfway complete. The new subdivision is being built in Springdale, off of Ermine Road. Wattling Road is the east border of the new subdivision.

The subdivision is named the Cottages at Roof’s Pond. It will contain 189 homes when it is complete said Springdale Mayor Juston Rikard.

“We’re excited for these new homes in Springdale,” Rikard said. “It’s been planned for 10 years.”
The population of Springdale, without the residents of the new homes, is 2,700.

Phase one of the project, or 62 lots, is complete and residents are moving in. Phase two contains contains 60 lots and more than 40 of the homes in phase two are built, with residents moving in. Almost all of phase two has been sold, Rikard said. Phase three contains 62 lots. The infrastructure is being installed now so construction of the phase three homes can begin.

A sidewalk will be installed along Platt Springs Road and Wattling Road, as a part of the project.
According to Rikard, the average price for the homes is $314,000. The minimum square-footage for a one-story home in the subdivision is 1,800. For a two-store home, the minimum square-footage is 2,000. The minimum lot size is 8,500-sq.ft.
