It came down to Clemson scoring a touchdown with one second left on the clock, Monday night. With that score, the Tigers defeated Alabama 35-31, to become college football’s National Champion.
Clemson had trailed most of the game, before taking a lead in the fourth quarter, only to lose the lead again. But the Tigers started a drive with just over two minutes remaining – ending with the TD to win.
West Columbia was represented by Bill Mooneyhan at the National Championship Game in Tampa. Before the game said he had a “real good feeling” I think we are going to win it,” he said from Tampa.
