Mayor’s Message
Greetings to the wonderful people of West Columbia. I am extremely privileged to serve as your mayor. And I must say we are at a very pivotal and exciting time in the growth of our city.
Not only are we on the brink of opening an Interactive Art Park near the corner of State and Meeting streets, there is lots more activity going on in West Columbia. We just closed the book on the Second Annual Kinetic Derby Day. It was a daylong festival that gave us the opportunity to show off our city to people from all over the state. It was a big success.
In addition to the weekly and free Rhythm on the River Concerts that takes place at the amphitheater at the West Columbia Riverwalk, tubers and kayakers are beginning to fill the beautiful river that runs by our city. There is no other municipality that offers more access to the Congaree River.
And there is so much more to be proud of. All of it is possible because of the dedicated employees who are continuously work hard to make West Columbia the best it can be, for you.
Sincerely,
Bobby Horton
