City of West Columbia partners with Cayce West Columbia Dixie Youth Baseball on opening day
The City of West Columbia and the West Columbia Police Department have partnered with the Cayce West Columbia Dixie Youth Baseball League to kick-off the 2020 season.
City of West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles will throw the first pitch at opening ceremonies on Saturday, February 29, 2020. The event is from 10 AM – 2 PM, with opening day games, a new Stuffed Animal drive, and free DNA ID Kits for children, distributed by the West Columbia Police Department.
Mayor Tem Miles said, “Youth sports is one of the best ways to build a united community. These programs give kids and families from across our entire community a chance to get to know each other and spend time together. I am proud to have been invited to participate in the opening of the season and in sponsoring these programs.”
In honor of Faye Swetlik, the Cayce West Columbia Dixie Youth Baseball League will be holding a new Stuffed Animal drive. The items will be given to local first responders to distribute when in contact with children in need. Please consider bringing a new bear/animal in honor of Faye Swetlik.
The Opening Ceremonies will be held at Howard Park on Cougar Drive in West Columbia. West Columbia,
