City of West Columbia launches WeCo Info app for sanitation and city information
The City of West Columbia launched its mobile app, WeCo Info, to make it even easier for residents to stay connected about sanitation and recycling collection programs as well as city news and information.
Residents can download the mobile app, WeCo Info, for Apple (https://apps.apple.com/app/id1603271010) or Android (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gov.westcolumbiasc.recollect.waste) smartphones. The mobile app contains garbage, recycling, and special pickup collection schedules specific to the in-city address and can send reminders for the specified address as well as other city news if the resident opts in. Also in the mobile app, there is a “What Goes Where Wizard” that allows residents to search specified materials to find out if a material should be recycled or put in the garbage.
Mayor Tem Miles said, “We are always working on ways to keep our community better informed about what is going on in our City. I would like to thank our staff for their creative ideas on finding and setting up this app. I hope every citizen in the City will sign up so they can get real-time individualized information on what they need.”
The MySchedule Tool is available on the city’s website as well at: www.westcolumbiasc.gov/sanitation-recycling. Type in the home address and:
-Sign up for sanitation collection reminders by email, phone call, or text message.
-Download your collection schedule into your iCal, Google calendar, or Microsoft Outlook calendar.
-Print your collection schedule.
At www.westcolumbiasc.gov/sanitation-recycling, you can also search the “What Goes Where Wizard” to learn how to properly recycle or dispose of materials.
