City of West Columbia issues statement on the impact of COVID
The City of West Columbia issued a statement, Thursday regarding the impact of COVID on city services.
In this everchanging environment, we continue to serve the residents and businesses of the City of West Columbia and their needs. With the resurgence of the COVID-19 Delta variant, we acknowledge the potential impact on staffing in city departments, such as an employee being in quarantine or a parents’ absence due to a child’s possible COVID-19 exposure.
We have been proactively planning for potential issues if they arise. Our equipment is in good working order, and even while we are currently experiencing the greatest impact on personnel since the beginning of the pandemic, all our services are operating as scheduled. Even so, we ask for your patience and understanding as we adapt to a rapidly changing environment while remaining committed to serving the needs of our residents and businesses.
City Hall is open to the public, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM. To thoroughly clean frequently touched surfaces, City Hall restricts access daily at 4:30 PM. However, the drive-thru remains open until 5 PM.
We appreciate your confidence and patience as we navigate the uncertainty ahead.
