City of Cayce releases schedule for Christmas Festivities

The City of Cayce and the Cayce Historical Museum are excited to announce the Annual Festival of lights cayceHoliday Events beginning December 3, 2015. Join us this holiday season for several activities throughout December that you and your family will be sure to enjoy!

 

38th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony: Thursday, December 3 at 6 pm, Cayce Municipal Complex

This event is always a holiday favorite! As we have had for the last few years, Mr. JR Berry of WLTX will be our emcee for the evening’s festivities. Sponsored by the Cayce Women’s Club, the proceeds from the sale of lights will be donated to God’s Helping Hand to assist families in need. You can also bring canned goods and non-perishable items to donate to the Cayce Cares Food Drive. This event is free to the community and will include music, lights, refreshments and fun for the whole family. The lights will be illuminated until the December 31.

 

26th Annual Cayce Historical Museum Christmas Open House: Saturday, December 5 at 6:00 pm

The Cayce Historical Museum will welcome visitors to celebrate the Holidays in the days of old. The free open house will feature beautifully decorated trees and other Christmas decorations in every room and guides in period costumes. Visit the living history encampments from all different periods of history on the Museum grounds. There will also be homemade refreshments and live entertainment in the Museum Visitor Center.

 

Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber Holiday Parade of Lights: Saturday, December 12 at 5:30 pm

As one of the most anticipated Holiday Parades in the Midlands, the Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade of Lights will begin at the corner of 12th Street and Highway 1. It will continue down 12th Street and end in front of the Cayce Municipal Complex. This event draws as many as 20,000 people from across the Midlands annually, so come early and grab your spot!

 

City of Cayce Mayor, Elise Partin, stated, “We are so proud of how our city comes together to makethe Holiday Season so memorable each year. These events are favorites for my family and I, and we hope to see many of you during this festive time!”
