Chris Cowan is the new Cayce Police chief.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott swore Cowan in at a ceremony in Cayce, Monday. Cowan said he already has meetings planned in various communities to get feedback from residents. Cowan will serve as chief of Cayce police only. A fire chief will be named later.

Cowan has a 29-year in law enforcement. He most-recently served with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
