Charwood Golf Club takes first place in Cayce-West Columbia Golf Tournament, Security Federal is second

The Greater Cayce West Columbia Chamber’s golf tournament was held at Charwood Golf Club on Thursday.

Charwood Golf Club took first place in the tournament. The team’s members are: Terry Boykin, Bill Coulter, Chase Eagle, and Andrew Washburn. The second-place team was Security Federal Bank. It’s members are: Scott Hagler, Ken Washburn, Chuck Powers, and Jim Bodie

“It was a record-breaking success,” said Hayley Bowers, Chamber Board president. The tournament had the highest ever number of volunteers and Board members participating. And there were 29 teams from businesses across the Midlands participating as well.”

“It was a wonderful day for golf and great for our Chamber businesses,” said Tim James, Chamber president. “It was a lot of fun.”

Other awards went to Dylan Michiaels of Burkett Burkett & Burkett CPAs and Jorge Andrew for closest to the pin. Prizes for longest drive went to Jordan Quinzi and Mark Williamson.

The Chamber and Visitors Program provided both lunch and a chicken tacos dinner cooked by Board member Steve Cohen of Home Concepts Too.

Over 25 volunteers wore specially printed by Sun Solutions golf shirts throughout the day. With temperatures rising up to 90 degrees, golfers were grateful for water and beverages by ServPro of Lexington, Butch Wallace Agency, and Nephron.
