Census workers being hired for 2020 Census in Lexington County
The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring this fall and into next year for temporary work in Lexington County. The jobs pay as much as $14.50 an hour and
work-related mileage and expenses are reimbursed.
T be be eligible, an applicant for a Census Bureau job must be at least 18 years old, have a valid Social Security number, and be a U.S. citizen. The application window is open through September. Those interested can apply online or call 855-JOB-2020 for more information or assistance.
Jobs include address canvassers who are responsible for confirming the addresses of all dwellings before the census begins, and then census takers who will collect data up-to May 2020. Other positions include recruiting assistants, office staff and supervisors.
The Census Bureau counts the number of people in the country every 10 years and the next census is scheduled for 2020. To accomplish that task the Census Bureau recruiting for close-to 6,000 jobs in Lexington, Richland and Kershaw counties.
