Cayce-West Columbia Chamber’s Community Expo and Career Fair draws lots of interest
Close to 60 companies, businesses, non-profits and churches were on hand for the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce Community Expo and Career Fair, Thursday.
The event was at Stone River close to West Columbia’s Riverwalk Park. The free event showcased the great things the Cayce-West Columbia community has to offer. From services provided by the local business community to tourism programs and activities in the area.
City organizations presented information about what is happening in the community. Representatives from the West Columbia Police Department and Cayce Police Department were on hand to recruit officer candidates. Lexington County Sheriff Jay Koon was also present with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
“This event was awesome for everybody,” said Ty Lochridge of West Columbia. “I saw someone hired on the spot, and there was great information for everyone, no matter if you are a newcomer or a longtime resident. I hope the Chamber has this every year. I love it.”
Tim James, Chamber CEO, said he was very pleased to see so much participation.
“There are so many different types of businesses and organizations here,” James, said. “There is something for everyone. This was a fantastic example of unity and community spirit.”
