Cayce Walmart Neighborhood Grocery cuts ribbon on new store

The ribbon was cut, Wednesday morning on the new Cayce Walmart Neighborhood Grocery store at the intersection of Knox-Abbott Drive and Charleston Highway.
“This is good for Cayce” said Cayce Mayor Pro-Tem James “Skip Jenkins. “We’re glad to have this store here.” He said the store is at a great location and it will help west end of Knox-Abbott Drive.
Jenkins was joined by Cayce City Councilwoman Tara Almond, City Manager Rebecca Vance and Assistant City Manager Shaun Greenwood.

Walmart Store Manager Katrina Tillman said there are 120 employees at the store. It is one of 24 Walmart Neighborhood Grocery stores in the state – 22 statewide, have been added in a year-and-a-half, according to one company official at the ribbon cutting.
Greater-Cayce West Columbia Chamber President and CEO Gregg Pinner was on hand for the ribbon-cutting. He lauded the growth in the area and welcomes more business. Pinner also said he is optimistic because of the level of interest from businesses in Cayce, West Columbia, Springdale area- along with the communities of South Congaree and Pine Ridge.

Not only does Cayce get a store that is literally across the street from the West Columbia City Limits- the intersection in front of the store got an upgrade- with new traffic lights- that cost close to $1 million.
