Cayce United Methodist Church receives 2 grants totaling $12,000 from Dominion Energy for energy-efficient lighting

Cayce United Methodist Church has received two grants totaling $12,000 from Dominion Energy to provide energy-efficient lighting throughout its buildings located at 1600 12th Street in Cayce.

Dominion Energy’s Small Business Energy Solutions Grants provide eligible small business owners with a 90% incentive payout, up to $6,000, for energy-efficient lighting, refrigeration, and/or heating and cooling system improvements. “We thank Dominion Energy for this opportunity to become better stewards of our fiscal resources. The updates to our bulbs and fixtures are providing better lighting for the many groups, including our congregation, that use our campus,” said Cayce United Methodist Reverend Meghan Sweeney Cook. “We also celebrate the opportunity to reduce our energy consumption footprint through this partnership. Mostly, we are excited about the opportunity to divert funds that would have gone towards our light bill into our community ministries.”

Cayce United Methodist Church’s mission is to change lives and transform communities for Christ. CUMC strives to fulfill its mission through good hospitality, strong and engaging worship, lively and relevant Sunday school small groups, and opportunities to engage in missions and outreach. CUMC offers Covid-19 adapted youth and children’s ministry, is engaged in ministry with Cayce Elementary School through Project Snack Sack, and serves the community through its Blessing Box, a ‘Take what you need; leave what you can.’ food pantry located in CUMC’s N Avenue parking lot.
