Cayce set to award bid for Thomas Newman Boat Landing repair
The City of Cayce has received bids for the repair of the Thomas Newman Boat Landing.
The boat landing was damaged after flooding on the Congaree River in the last year.
The work to repair the landing includes installation of a new aluminum floating dock. To replace the dock, the current dock- that is damaged,- will have to be removed. The work also includes reinstalling and repair of steel pilings ,site prep work, grading, and erosion control.
Cayce’s Assistant City Manager Shaun Greenwood said a bid could be approved by city council at its next meeting, in September.
The process of finding a bidder has been slowed because qualified contractors have been busy with so many other repairs that were required after the flooding in the area in the last year, Greenwood said.
