The Cayce Department of Public Safety is looking for three individuals for questioning in a scam. On March 17, around 2 p.m. two white male individuals (Suspect 1 and 2) went to an address in Cayce and approached an elderly resident with an offer to pressure wash her home for $85.
The resident agreed to have the work done. After pressure washing the house the two individuals confronted the resident and stated that they had performed other un-requested and fictitious repairs on the home, and the price was now $1,600.
The elderly victim gave the subjects $400 cash and wrote a check for $1,200 for the remaining balance. The check was made out to a Luis Alan McDaniel (no ID presented). The victim believed this to be one of the two males at her residence. Later the same day, a Hispanic male (Suspect 3) cashed the check at the BB&T located on Bush River road in Columbia South Carolina.
