From Ashley Hunter – City of Cayce – The Cayce Police Department continues to investigate the Saturday shooting at the Love’s Travel Stop on Bluff Road.

The Criminal Investigations Services Division is obtaining and analyzing video, preparing physical evidence including fingerprints, DNA, and firearms evidence for examination by the crime lab. The Cayce Police Department is also following leads developed from the crime scene evidence and witness statements.

Investigators believe that many witnesses left the scene of the shooting prior to the arrival of law enforcement. These witnesses are encouraged to contact the Cayce Police Department at 803-606-2987 or Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.

Due to the circumstances of this case and possible violations of Federal Laws, the incident is being investigated with the cooperation of local and federal law enforcement officials.
