Investigators with the Cayce Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, working alongside the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Crime Reduction Unit, developed evidence and conducted interviews that led to the arrests. The investigation determined Allen was the victim of an armed robbery at the Alight Apartments on Alexander Road in Cayce in September 2024 when he was shot and killed. Brown is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting trial. The investigation remains active as detectives continue working to locate Lakenya Ny’Kia Williams, 20, who is wanted on an outstanding warrant in connection with the September 2024 shooting.
Anyone who sees Williams should not approach her and should immediately call 911. Anyone with information regarding Williams’ whereabouts is encouraged to submit an anonymous tip through the Midlands CrimeStoppers app or by calling 888-274-6372 (888-CRIME-SC). CrimeStoppers allows individuals to provide information anonymously, and tips leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.

The Cayce Police Department extends its appreciation to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Crime Reduction Unit and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division for their continued partnership and assistance throughout this investigation.
