Cayce New House Construction Update – Developments Paint a Vibrant Residential Future

There are new options for housing coming for the City of Cayce.

Our City Leaders Emphasize Smart Growth,” Cayce City Manager, Michael Conley, stated, “Offering a range of new market-rate homes, senior living communities, and affordable housing, these residential developments embody our city’s dedication to balanced growth and excellence in urban design.”

Below are some example of the new homes being built in Cayce:

Hattie’s Crossing: Urban-Style Homes on a Historic Site-

Currently under construction at Lexington Avenue and Poplar Street, the former site of the historic Cayce Grammar School, Hattie’s Crossing is a 12-home urban-style development led by Cypress Commercial. It features front-facing sidewalks for walkability and community interaction, with access and parking provided via a private alleyway, blending modern planning with small-town character.

Dunbar Village: 52 Homes on Former Middle School Property-

The site of the former Busbee Middle School is being revitalized into Dunbar Village, a 52-unit attached single-family home development by Great Southern Homes.

The homes feature brick or stone facades, welcoming front porches, and convenient garages, providing a traditional yet upscale residential feel. Model homes are already completed and available for tours, marking a significant milestone in the project’s rollout! Still Hopes Expansion: 14 Cottages Underway – 

On the corner of 9th Street and F Avenue, construction is underway on 14 new cottages as part of the expansion of Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community. Though visible from city streets, access to these cottages will be exclusively through the existing Still Hopes campus. The expansion is designed to offer independent living options while maintaining connectivity to the main campus and its amenities.

Habitat for Humanity Builds Affordable Housing – 

On Middle Street, three new homes built by Habitat for Humanity are nearing completion, contributing to affordable housing efforts in the area. Two additional Habitat homes are proposed for Benedict Street, with construction expected to begin soon!

Private Development on Benedict Street Nears Completion – 

Also on Benedict Street, two single-family homes are in the final stages of construction! These homes feature traditional front porches and reflect our city’s trend toward revitalizing established neighborhoods.
