Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the person who was killed in a single-car accident on Nursery Road in Lexington County on Wednesday.
Fisher said Maurice Springs, 29, of Cayce was driving a 1995 Ford Escort and was traveling east on Nursery Road near Nursery Ridge Road at approximately 03:20 a.m.

The vehicle left the road on the right side, traveled through a ditch, and then struck a culvert pipe and overturned onto the right side. Springs was pronounced dead at the scene from the injuries he sustained in the accident. An autopsy was performed early today and showed that Springs died of multiple body trauma.
Springs was the sole occupant in the vehicle and was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

  The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
