A Cayce man died in an accident involving a motorcycle and a truck outside of Columbia on Saturday.
The collision occurred around 2:15 p.m. in the Garners Ferry (U.S. 378) area, near Lower Richland Boulevard, said Master Trooper Brian Lee of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Lee said a 2016 Chevrolet truck was heading west on Garners Ferry when it attempted to make a left turn onto Lower Richland Boulevard. The truck and a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was Anthony H. Burks, 42, of Cayce. He died of injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger on the motorcycle was transported to the hospital. Richland County Coroner Naida Rutherford has identified Burks as the deceased victim.

Lee said that the driver was wearing a seatbelt and the riders were wearing helmets.
