Cayce lights its tree, Lexington 2 students sing
Cayce held its 39th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday evening at the Municipal Complex on 12th Street.
The Tree Lighting Ceremony is sponsored by The Woman’s Club of Cayce. Students from the Lexington 2 schools of Davis Early Childhood Center for Technology, Taylor Elementary, Busbee Creative Arts Academy and Brookland-Cayce High School performed songs and played music. Lexington 2 Superintendent Dr. Bill James spoke, along with other officials and dignitaries, including Cayce Mayor Elise Partin.
Proceeds from the sale of lights for the tree, in the amount of $1,000 was given to God’s Helping Hands. The Woman’s Club is also sponsored the Cayce Cares food drive and collected non-perishable food items for God’s Helping Hands.
Aside from the Christmas tree, the grounds of the Municipal Complex were lighted. Click on photos to enlarge.
