Cayce hires new grant writer, park upgrades progressing
City manager Rebecca Vance said the City of Cayce has hired a special projects coordinator. Vance announced the hiring at Cayce’s City Council meeting Tuesday.
Rachel Moody is replacing Tara Greenwood who was hired earlier in the summer by the City of West Columbia. Moody comes to Cayce from Kansas and has 10 years experience, vance said.
And, Vance said, upgrades at Guinard and Riverland parks are nearing completion. Bad weather has slowed progress. Vance said grand openings for the renovated parks would be about the same time.
Vance also said the parking lot of the public safety department has been paved and new bay doors have been installed at the city’s fire station.
The shell of the new parks and sanitation building is up.
Also, Assistant City Manager Shaun Greenwood has been accepted into the Leadership South Carolina program. Mayor Elise Partin and Vance have completed the training.
