Cayce Guided Walking Tours along Congaree River resumed for the fall
The City of Cayce Guided Walking Tours along the banks of the Congaree River have resumed for the fall.
Explore living history on the tours. Two have already been conducted this fall, and one is scheduled for this coming Saturday.
In just one-square-mile, there is cultural and natural evidence of 12,000 years of habitation in a beautiful and unique setting on the banks of the fertile Congaree River.
As a part of the tours, National Park trained volunteers point out areas of significance along the trail at the 12,000 Year History Park and tell stories about the Battle of Congaree Creek, Fort Congaree and 18th Century Trade, and Lifeways of Native Americans throughout history.
Special events include lantern tours, nature walks and much more. All tours are free and a great adventure for kids. Please wear comfortable shoes. You may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and plenty of water.
Get to the site 15 minutes early if you can. And please remember to wear comfortable shoes. You may want to bring a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and plenty of water.
