Cayce City Manager, Rebecca Vance, leaving for post in Dorchester County

Cayce City Manager, Rebecca Vance has accepted a new position with Dorchester County. Vance was named City Manager for the City of Cayce in 2011 and has been with the city for seven years. Vance, a native of Summerville in Dorchester County, is moving to be closer to her elderly parents.

Vance holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of South Carolina and the University of Charleston. She has more than fourteen years of city management experience and four years of planning work for local government entities. 

Vance received the ICMA Credentialed Manager and is one of the few City Managers to be a Certified Planner by the American Institute of Certified Planners. She also serves as a Board Member on theSouth Carolina Municipal Insurance Reserve Fund Board.

A sample of the many accomplishments that Rebecca, and our Mayor and Council have completed together in the City of Cayce over the last seven years include the expansion of the Cayce Riverwalk, a successful city-wide community rebranding campaign, countless economic development initiatives throughout the region, negotiation of the Regional Wastewater Rate Methodology with various government entities and the completion of the new 25 mgd Cayce Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant and the implementation of a four-year plan to make the Cayce residential sanitation services self-sufficient. The City looks forward to continuing to tackle new projects, revitalizations, economic development initiatives and the funding and implementing of a $28 million waterline replacement project in the coming years. 

The City Manager position for the City of Cayce has been posted.  Vance’s last day with the City of Cayce will be March 15.
