
Cayce City Manager Jim Crosland talks about community partnerships and progress at the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Business Breakfast at Steel Hands Brewery

Cayce City Manager, Jim Crosland, was the featured speaker at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Business Breakfast on Tuesday. The meeting was held at Steel Hands Brewery in Cayce.

He mentioned that there are 663 businesses operating in Cayce and that by June, there will be 2100 employees working in Cayce with the move of the Department of Public Health to the former Dominion Energy Complex off 12th Street. Landscape supplier Techo-Bloc is coming to Cayce’s Saxe Gotha Industrial Park. A collaborative effort with Lexington County, the company plans to invest $45 million and create 46 new jobs.
Crosland also cited the importance of our regional and local partnerships.
“One of our most important strengths in Cayce is our partnership,” he said. “Our city leadership works with the people of the community, our citizens and our businesses. And there is an open line of communication between everyone.”
Crosland also included a list of reasons as to why Cayce is an attractive place to live and operate a business:

- Business Check/Assessment on Security and Fire by PD/FD
- Location – near major highways and Columbia International Airport
- USC/Midlands Tech brings a thriving workforce
- The Lexington Two Innovation Center located in Cayce
- Quality of Life – The Cayce Riverwalk and great restaurants

“Revitalization and communication will be key factors in the approach,” Crosland said.

- Meetings with Realtors and Developers on Potential Projects
- Affordable Housing Options
- Fairfield Inn Coming to Airport Blvd
- Gateway Improvements to our Airport Corridor
