Cayce Avenues Drainage Project Addresses Flooding with the installation of new larger pipe system – Making Progress

Construction on the City of Cayce Avenues Drainage Improvement Project began this summer. The Drainage Improvement program was implemented to address flooding along Knox Abbott Drive, Axtell Drive, and on the Cayce Avenues. The project involves the replacing of storm water run-off drainage pipes that were backing up through the system of older, smaller pipes. Creeks that carried storm water runoff are also being improved.

The Cayce Avenues Drainage Improvement Project will take over a year to complete and it includes road closures. There have been road closings on State Street, Indigo Avenue and others. Equipment and materials have been staged in Guignard Park and at one time in the parking lot of Brookland-Cayce High School.

The project is being funded with a $10 million grant from the South Carolina Infrastructure Investment Program. Residents can sign up for updates and follow the project’s progress on the City of Cayce’s website and social media. Click Here
