Cayce and West Columbia among best places to sell a home

Good news for home sellers in Cayce and West Columbia.

A recent study ranked both among the easiest places in South Carolina to sell. SmartAsset, a New York-based financial technology company ranked cities in the US by the number of days their homes spend on the market. Cayce was ranked at No. 10 easiest place to sell a home in the state. West Columbia was ranked No. 2.

The ranking in South Carolina for best places to sell a home are as follows: Ladson was No. 1 on the list. Mauldin was No. 3, Hanahan was No. 4, and Lake City was No. 5.

Land is being cleared off of Axtell Drive in Cayce. 25 new homes will be built near the Congaree River at the site.

Just across the river, Columbia came in at No. 6, Taylors was No. 7, Goose Creek was No. 8 and Myrtle Beach No. 9.

To comprise the list the cities with the easiest ability to sell a home, SmartAsset searched for the overall healthiest markets and looked at a variety of factors, including:

• Average Years Living in Home

• Average Homes with Negative Equity

• Homes Decreasing in Value

• Average Days on Market

• Home Cost as % of Income

Additional factors that were taken into consideration were stability, affordability, fluidity and risk of loss factors.
