Cayce and Project Partners Prioritize Communication as the Cayce Avenues Drainage Project Continues to Move Forward
As construction ramps up on the Cayce Avenues Drainage Improvement Project, city officials and contractors are taking extra steps to keep residents informed, safe, and aware every step of the way.
Construction of the $10 million infrastructure project—designed to reduce flooding and improve storm drainage across the Avenues neighborhood—is now fully underway, with heavy equipment and work crews visible in key areas along Knox Abbott Drive and surrounding streets.
To ensure residents remain in the loop and can plan accordingly, the project team has launched a multi-platform community engagement effort that includes:
- A dedicated project website: CayceDrainage.com, featuring real-time traffic alerts, project updates, and public information.
- Informational mailers and door hangers delivered to homes near the construction zone.
- QR code access to updates for tech-savvy residents on the go.
- Ongoing email and text alerts with road closure notices and safety advisories.
- Dedicated Project Information Line (1-803-939-9321) for resident comments or concerns.
“Communication is a key element during a project of this scale,” said Cayce City Manager, Jim Crosland. “We know drainage work brings short-term disruption, but our goal is to keep the community fully informed and minimize inconvenience as much as possible.”
“We’ve heard the concerns about stormwater runoff from our Cayce citizens, and we are committed to serve as part of the solution through grant funding and partnerships,” stated Cayce Public Information Officer, Ashley Hunter.
Crews will be active throughout the summer and into 2026. Residents are urged to avoid construction areas and are encouraged to contact project representatives via the Project Information Line with any concerns. For more information or to sign up for updates, visit CayceDrainage.com.
